Both of my parents were victims of stroke and heart disease. I understand first hand the pain and sorrow these traumatic experiences can cause.

As a young girl, I can vividly remember my father suffering a massive stroke while preaching from the pulpit. In the middle of his sermon, he began slurring with his words and then suddenly collapses to the floor. My father was immediately rushed to the hospital. He eventually returned home paralyzed and permanently disabled. He never really preached again. The man I once knew as a pillar of strength was now totally dependent on others to take care of him. My family's life would change forever as my mom took on the sole responsibility of raising and providing for 11 children until my father passed in 1997.

Almost one year ago, I had to make a tough decision to put my music career and recording project temporarily on hold to take care of my sick mother. On New Year's Eve of 2012, she suffered a massive heart attack, went into cardiac arrest, and was left in a semi-comatose state. The doctors gave her a one in a million chance of survival. Today, she's alive and continues to show signs of recovery...Praise God! I thank God for every day she is alive and the opportunity to give back to her what she has unselfishly gave to my siblings and I over the years. When I look into my mom's face, I'm reminded of the importance of life, love and good health.

Today, I am presently in the studio recording my next album project and planning a Summer Tour. My new mission is not only to save lives spreading the gospel, but creating an awareness to stroke and heart disease along with other health conditions that effect our quality of life.
