I moved to California from North Carolina to pursue music. I now live with family, and my cousin is paralyzed on the left side of his body. I didn't know him prior to his stroke, but I do see how difficult everyday task are for him. He was a very successful businessman in his heyday - and is still highly intelligent. I am speaking about a highly ambitious & accomplished Stanford graduate who was on a scholarship for Rowing. Being an athlete who enjoys physical training and exercise to know he can't, and would be able to had it not been for a stroke is beyond sad. He has two small children and a selfless wife who has been there for him every step of the way. He has people in his corner, and I pray everyday that he will continue to fight back against a disability that tried to claim his life but failed. I just hope one day he sees it that way too, and lives in a way to glorify the God who gave him life.
